Throughout the day by Patrick Gale is a very well written love story. It is so well written that sometimes the gentle gradient of the landscape driven remember by Holland. An occasional abyss or Gorge would be welcome.

Between them, these characters build understandings and misunderstandings, but there's very little surprise. At least one seems have a fad diet.

The book is easy and pleasant to read, but somehow people never really alive. Patrick Gale tells their fears or benefits us more about their past, their families, their relationships, occasionally, but somehow the feeling is pushed reminiscent of pieces, Lady that on a Board. It is certainly not as demanding as chess, and the movements seem good, predictable.

And that is the problem. These people ooze a under stated medium trust, but they come in so complacent, uninteresting, and rather complacent. Adorable they are not. Fill a story elegantly, but their passions are so terribly English. We could happen time of day, but expect no part of the experience to offer something unforgettable. Perhaps the point is.

Cosby crafts a sensual novel full of excitement, adventure, and love with "His Conquest." Set in Scotland, 1297, the Scots are fighting for their freedom from the oppressive English King, Edward I. Lord Fulke Tearleach, has been given Breac Castle and holds the Scottish Lord, Seathan Grey in it's dungeon. When Tearleach's sister, Linet, frees the Scot, she sets herself and Seathan on a path full of danger and sizzling with heat.

The novel opens with Linet making a life changing decision. She chooses to go against her brother's wishes to marry, and frees Fulke's (her brother) hostage, Lord Seathan Grey from the dungeon, extracting Seathan's promise to take her to the Highlands to be with her mother's clan.

Seathan suspects her motives, but agrees since the alternative is death. Using secret passageways, Linet escorts Seathan out of the castle, but the path is fraught with danger as her brother's knights search the keep. Linet also has another problem - her overwhelming attraction to Seathan.

Seathan is grateful for Linet's actions and he soon finds himself giving her a certain amount of trust. He's stimulated by the brave noblemen, wanting to explore what is growing between them. After evading Tearleach's men and hiding in a cave. Seathan's brothers find him and escort the couple back to Lochshire Castle, Seathan's home.

Seathan is torn between duty and Linet, wanting to claim the Englishwoman for his own. However, when he discovers Linet's secret - that she's Tearleach's sister, his trust is shattered. Can Seathan find it in his heart to forgive Linet, or will he push her away and deny the smoldering desire he has for her?

Cosby's novel starts off with an action packed opening that immediately grabs the reader's attention. Along with a forbidden kiss, she creates a pulse-pounding romance, finding just the right mix of plot and character driven storytelling.

The descriptions use a great economy of words to paint 1297 Scotland and the dialogue adds an extra layer of authenticity to the story.

Both Seathan and Linet are compelling characters. Linet is loyal to the bone and embodies a true noblewoman with her courage and steadfast belief in her heart. Seathan doubts the power of love, not trusting it, but with Linet, he dares to believe.

The novel is sophisticated for romance readers. The love scenes are hot, sexy, and seductive, embodying the passion the couple has discovered. "His Conquest" is a delicious romp to another time and place and will have the reader believing in the power of love. I simply did not want to put it down.

A Family's Quest for Silence is a short love story involving the history of the Illuminati and how it affected one American family who had roots dating back two thousand years, from a small town named, Galilee. The story quickly brings the reader into modern day times and how the goals of the Illuminati are threaten when the young is born and educated in America.

The story takes place over a span of 2000 years and starts with a secretive family meeting where the head of the family reveals his prophecy of the future and how the family is to respond to the world events. The family is the neighbors and friends of the Family of Joseph of Galilee. Risk crafts an exotic adventure filled with supernatural happenings, greed, betrayal, and love with "Osiris' Missing Part." Based on an ancient Egyptian legend, the god Seth tricks Osiris into a box and kills him, cutting his body into fourteen parts and spreading them all over Egypt. Will the goddess Isis be successful in resurrecting the only man she truly loves?

The story opens with Isis bringing Osiris back to life, only she's missing the piece where his godly power is stored - his manhood. Osiris is grateful for Isis' efforts, but knows he has to go on a quest to seek out his manhood. Isis agrees to go with him after learning the conditions set upon them by Seth to reattach Osiris' manhood. The condition is insulting to her however - a virgin must reattach Osiris' part with her personal sap.

Osiris and Isis enlist the help of their temple guardians, Sophia, Nica, Shafika, Hosmath, and Toutmass. Seth, however, is not far behind. Once he discovers Osiris and Isis are looking for Osiris' missing member, he finds ways to sabotage their mission.

Risk's writing is a wonderful "what-if" of the legend. She blends just the right amount of reality and myth offering the reader a unique and creative story. Her descriptions are "spot on," allowing the reader to visualize ancient Egypt with ease.

The most rewarding aspect of the story was the characterization of Isis and Osiris. While gods and capable of supernatural achievements, both have very human hearts. Osiris was a bit of a womanizer in his first life, but Isis' devotion shows him he can love just one woman. Isis has a tendency not to see "the grey/middle ground" in people and situations and Osiris demonstrates to her that its all right to give your trust to others who have earned it.

The novel is sophisticated for romance readers with love scenes that are graphic, sensual, and tasteful. Risk's imagination shines against the lush backdrop of ancient Egypt. "Osiris' Missing Part" is a wonderful escape to another time and place that proves love does conquer all.
