Sherry Argov writes a book called Why Men Love Bitches, told from a comedian's point of view, the book suggests that women be self empowered and strong and self assured in order to really secure a lasting relationship with a man. It discusses the importance of power in a relationship as well as how making a man feel as though he has it will make him offer his protection and give you the entire world. Also, if a woman stays a little distant, then the man might feel threatened that he will lose her and it will make him more doting, as a result. Though unconventional in nature, the book does empower women and suggest a new kind of way and role that women might have in the dating world, showing the various results of this method, as well.

Neil Strauss writes a book called Rules of the Game, a book that is all about learning the secrets of pick up artists. He studies the techniques of seduction with these step by step instructions and assures that men will have success with these methods. There are word for word lines to use as well as the assurance that you don't need to be handsome or wealthy to get a girl, but instead you can only need to understand how the laws of attraction work and manipulate them to your advantage. Furthermore, the book includes a thirty day work out program that helps sharpen social skills in a way that is advantageous.

Mystery writes a book called How to Get Beautiful Women Into Bed. The author, who is really named Erik von Markovik, is one of the best pick up artists in the nation and has made a kind of art or science method out of seduction. Using jargon he created as well as a bunch of charts and some vulgarity, he presents an almost arrogant methodology for getting a date but with his reputation and backing, his methods are sure to produce some success in the world of dating.

For women, Marie Forleo writes Make Every Man Want You, a book that offers tips on how to unleash your attractive and inner irresistible self, presented in a way that is funny and engaging as well as easy to follow and understand. This book seeks to focus on who you are, and is more than just a way to get a man, but also a way to let yourself out in a way that is confident and brave and good for you in a bigger scheme. The book seeks to teach the five truths every woman needs to know, as well as the seven habits of unattractive women, and the secrets of attracting the right man for you. With this breakdown, the book acts as a kind of life coach.

Boy Meets Girl: a book by Joshua Harris, is the story of how he met his wife. Using his own personal method, he urges that people use a method of courtship to secure a mate, using prayer and thought and the good old fashioned Christian method of finding a partner with an obedience to God. In the last part of his book he discusses the importance of forgiveness for past sins, questions that are important to ask one another before making that marital leap, as well as how all of these things can help with conflict resolution.

Book Review for: "To Catch A Cop"

Set in Australia, "To Catch A Cop" is a witty and clever romantic suspense with a quirky heroine and a hero determined to prove her innocence. Lindy Kellerman has a full plate - two kids, a full time job as a nursing instructor, a thesis to write, but when a student dies in her classroom, all eyes fall on her. Can Detective Frasier MacKinnon prove her innocent of the murder?

The story opens with Lindy and her students arriving for class only to discover that a student, Sasha, is dead. The police are called along with the staff. Detective Frasier MacKinnon takes over the case, but right away things don't add up. Lindy appears to be the prime suspect, but doesn't act like it. Further confounding the investigation, Frasier realizes he's attracted to Lindy.

Lindy's stress grows on all fronts. Her ex-husband rarely helps with the children, she looks like the prime suspect in the police investigation, there are finals to grade, her doctorate thesis is due soon, and the school counselor, Borowski, is riding her to finish her grant application.

Lindy decides to take matters into her own hands and begins to question her students about Sasha. She soon discovers Sasha was bad news and was dealing drugs. Shortly afterwards, Lindy starts receiving threats.

Frasier sticks close to Lindy to protect her, but their mutual attraction begins to get in the way. Can Frasier and Lindy get it together to make it work or will the case drive them apart?

"To Catch A Cop" shifts between first person Lindy and third person Frasier. Drushkin's writing is sharp and makes this challenge look easy. She captures a strong first person voice, engaging the reader and taking them along for the ride with Lindy.

Drushkin's plot is clever and witty. I found myself rooting for Lindy at every turn.

The characters shine. Lindy is a little older, struggling with a mountain of problems that everyone can identify with, yet Lindy doesn't let her problems weigh her down. She's a modern everyday heroine to be admired.

Frasier MacKinnon is a hero that the reader can root for. He's handsome, sharp, and determined to finish what he starts. His attraction to Lindy is unexpected, yet he does his best to solve the case.

If anything, the font on the ebook changes and there are several typos, but that did not take away from my enjoyment of the overall story.

The novel is sensual for romance readers and the love scene is tasteful. Drushkin strikes a wonderful balance between the comedic and suspenseful elements of the story. "To Catch A Cop" will warm your heart, leave you biting your nails, and have you cheering for Lindy from start to finish.

Freeburn crafts a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat with "Lost Then Found." Jonas Knight is a skip tracer - a person who is an expert at helping to hide others - so is his ex-wife, Renee, who he still harbors feelings for. When his partner, Peter, asks him to help find someone, Jonas reluctantly agrees knowing the case will pit him against Renee.

Gina Howard has a reason to get lost - she's a minor and her uncle, Eric, is trying to cheat her out of her inheritance. Eric is a dangerous man and Renee has hidden Gina well. Eric has two weeks to find Gina before she turns of age, and he puts pressure on Peter to find her. Peter involves Jonas.

Jonas still has deep feelings for Renee, yet he knows she's determined to protect Gina no matter the cost. Renee hasn't forgiven Jonas for his involvement in her sister's Melody's murder, and while Jonas didn't commit the crime, Renee's resentment runs deep.

As soon as Jonas starts poking around Renee's business, trouble follows them. They're attacked, shot at, and run off the road. The deeper Jonas becomes involved, the more aggressive the hunter is.

Jonas realizes the right thing to do is to ensure Gina's well-being and keep Renee safe despite the attraction that flares up between them. Can he unlock the secrets that threaten his world before his pursuer catches him?

Freeburn's penned a taunt romantic suspense that will have the reader turning the pages to find out what will happen next. Her writing is sharp and crisp, engaging the reader with ease.

The characters are complex and interesting. Jonas truly is a "knight" in shining amour, coming to Renee's rescue over and over again. However, he hides his inner pain behind a stoic mask, rarely letting anyone see his heart.

Renee puts up a strong fa?ade, but her soul is tormented by conflicting emotions regarding Jonas. For her to heal, she must find it in her heart to forgive him.

What I liked best about the novel was how the inspirational message grew organically within the storytelling so I didn't feel like I was "preached" to. Freeburn does two things well - entwining the "lost" immediacy of Gina's plight with the "lost" aching between Renee and Jonas over their failed marriage, attacking both issues, then showing the showing the journey for all to be "found," giving the title a two-fold meaning.

The novel is "sweet" for romance readers with Jonas and Renee sharing a kiss or two. Overall, "Lost Then Found" is a pulse-pounding read that will resonate with the reader long after they've finished the story.

Book Review for: Purple Knot

Byrnes crafts an edge of your seat romantic thriller with "Purple Knot." A contemporary inspirational, Reyna Cruz is a private investigator who has left Seattle to establish a life in California. When her childhood friend, Summer Evans, dies from injuries received in an assault, Reyna puts herself on the case, but solving it will take all her wits and faith in God.

Reyna is working when she receives a phone call from her former fianc?, Jimmy Carbeau, Summer's twin brother. Jimmy is frantic. Summer has been assaulted and she's eight months pregnant. Reyna rushes from San Francisco to Seattle. When she arrives at the hospital, she discovers Summer has left her a medical power of attorney. Making the best decision she can with the doctor's advice and assessment, Reyna elects to save the baby and Summer dies.

Despite the pain from Summer's loss, Reyna reconnects with Jimmy, who is just as passionate about finding Summer's killer. Jimmy, however, doesn't necessarily approve of Reyna's methods, but he can't deny his heart. He loves Reyna and he's willing to give their love another chance.

The case heats up when Reyna is attacked in her office and her house is ransacked. The danger doesn't deter her. When a drug angle is introduced as a motive, Reyna is appalled. Summer did not do drugs.

Reyna calls in all her favors to get answers, but will those answers destroy the rekindled love she's found with Jimmy?

Byrnes infuses the story with just the right mix of suspense and romance. The story is told in the first person from Reyna's perspective and Byrnes does a fine job giving Reyna her own unique and distinctive voice. The descriptions are balanced and nuanced, never lingering, yet painting vivid pictures of the setting.

I enjoyed how Byrnes handled the inspirational message of the story, making it feel like a natural, organic element and not forcing the religious overtones.

Reyna and Jimmy are compelling characters. Both have to overcome the pain of loss, but each do it in their own way. What allows Reyna to really grow as a character is a scene in which she reaches for Jimmy's hand and asks him to pray. It's a very somber, yet poignant moment for them and defines them as a couple.

The story is sweet for romance readers with Reyna and Jimmy sharing a kiss or two. "Purple Knot" draws the reader in effortlessly and doesn't let go until the last page.

Chantel fashions a story full of adventure, heartbreak, hope, and love with "Redemption for the Devil." Set in the early 1920's, Peg Kincade's whole life is turned upside down when her father is presumed dead. Wanting to forge a new life for herself, Peg sets out for America, but will an Irish devil, Liam Cormac, ruin any chance she has of starting a new life?

The story opens with Liam, a soldier in the Irish Republican Army. He's given a task to blow up a cruise ship, The Mauretania. Liam agrees and takes along an accomplice, Devlin. Liam's heart has been hardened due to losing friends in the war.

Peg Kincade is told her father is presumed dead after he took an adventure to the Arctic. Peg's insufferable cousin, Archibald, comes to run her father's business. Miserable, Peg resolves to make her way to America so she can start fresh. She finds herself on the Mauretania where she first works as a cabin maid.

Pegs meets Liam and discovers he's a hard man, yet, despite how gruff he is to her, he comes to her rescue time and again. When Peg is hired as a lounge singer in first class, she grows closer to Liam.

Liam can't deny the attraction he feels for Peg. Devlin pushes him to complete the mission - blow up the ship - but Liam waivers. Peg has chipped holes into his hardened heart, which is now warming. Liam begins to believe he can find true happiness with Peg. Unfortunately, the road to redemption and love is fraught with danger and Liam will have to work to earn Peg's respect and trust before she gives him her heart.

Chantel's novel shines against the vintage backdrop of the 1920's. The story's setting starting at Cork, Ireland then journeying to the Mauretania, and finally ending in Chicago sets a rich authentic tone for the novel. Adding to the authenticity is the believability of the character's dialect, which Chantel does well. She pulls off a difficult challenge and makes it shine as an organic element of the story. For me, this authenticity was the most enjoyable aspect of the novel. I felt like I was right there in Peg's cabin on the boat.

Peg and Liam tug on the reader's heartstrings as they embark on an adventure filled with excitement and love. Liam is strong and decent, but going down a road that offers no hope until he meets Peg, and love pricks his soul. Peg's belief in him gives him the will to change his destiny. Peg has a strong moral backbone, but needs to learn that people and situations aren't always black and white and there is a grey middle ground most fall into. Liam dares her to explore this concept.

The novel is sophisticated for romance readers with love scenes that are sensual and tasteful. "Redemption for the Devil" will allow the reader to experience a gambit of emotions, and will resonate with them long after the last page.
